About the society
The Hossaini Society of Victoria (HSV) is a registered charity and non-profit organization committed to the preservation, propagation, and practice of Islamic teachings according to the Ja’fari School of Thought. The organization is established to serve the Islamic educational and social welfare needs of the Shia Muslim community in Victoria, Australia, while also fostering interfaith harmony and humanitarian services.
Aims and Objectives
Preserve and promote the Shia Islamic faith.
Provide religious, educational, and social welfare services to the community.
Promote interfaith harmony and cooperation with other faith groups.
Ensure transparent financial management and ethical governance.
Protect and maintain HSV’s land and assets for community benefit.
Maintain and uphold Islamic marriage, divorce, and funeral services for the community.
Ensure that HSV’s resources and assets are used exclusively for charitable purposes.

Spiritual & Personal Support
We provide spiritual guidance and informal counselling on mental health, youth concerns, marriage, parenting, and personal development — helping families thrive.
Weekend School - Educating the Next Generation
Every Saturday, around 100 students attend Qur’an and Islamic studies classes at HSV Saturday School. Our dedicated teachers nurture both knowledge and values for tomorrow’s leaders.
Youth Islamic Studies
Guiding Our Youth with Knowledge. Regular Islamic classes for boys and girls, conducted by qualified Islamic teachers, help young people grow in faith, understanding, and confidence.
Daily Prayers
United in Prayer, United in Spirit. HSV hosts daily Maghribain Jamaat prayers and dua programs at the Dandenong South Community Centre, bringing the community together in worship, reflection, and unity.
Marriage Course
Strong Marriages, Strong Community. Marriage preparation and relationship courses, led by Sheikh Ibrar Mohammadi, equip couples with Islamic values and practical skills to build healthy family life.
Letters of Support
HSV provides letters of support for community members’ visa and citizenship applications. These letters are widely praised and recognised by immigration lawyers, migration agents, and professionals as highly effective.
Online Awareness
A Voice for the Community Online. With thousands of followers, HSV raises awareness on religious, social, and political issues, keeping our community informed and engaged.
Observance of Islamic Events
Honouring Sacred Occasions. HSV observes all Islamic events — from wiladats to shahadats — fostering spiritual connection and unity within the community.
